The Mallorca Diaries: Hike Edition

So, I found this hike on Strava (you can check it out here). It’s listed as 21.76 km with a 3-hour estimate, but let’s just say, I stretched that out a bit longer!

The pictures looked amazing, and I was SOLD. Plus, a little extra elevation? Why not. Hike prep was minimal—rocking my black Lulu shorts, but girls, the rookie mistake? Hiking in Air Forces! I really need to sort out my packing next time but London life is crazy and my stuff is in storage because we are moving flats so it is what it is!!

Pro Tip: Download the Strava route before you go just in case you loose signal! Don’t want you girlies getting lost.

I kicked off the morning at Mistral Coffee (thanks for the recs, btw), ordered my iced coffee (attempted Spanish, but the guy was Welsh—LOL). €5 for a latte, but worth it for that caffeine hit!

The weather was giving late summer/autumn vibes, so I headed out of the city and into the wilderness. The first few km were gorgeous—walking past beaches and grabbing a quick ice cream at 6.5k, because why not?

Around 10k in, I started to feel the heat—sent my location to friends and fam (just in case), because girl, safety first! The climb got REAL, and I was sweating like crazy. I thought I’d have to pull a Bear Grylls with a fallen tree, but turns out, no hands-and-knees situation required. Thank goodness.

By 12k, I was in explorer mode—views getting better with every step. But Strava lied, this was by no stretch what I would call “easy.”!! The climb had me d r i p p i n g, but it was so worth it. The views at the top? I could cry!

I highly recommend bringing extra snacks and water (I ran out way too early).

At 15k, I was dripping, but that afternoon sun was just chef’s kiss. There’s something so freeing about being out there on your own, taking it all in.

The views on the way down were even better, and I made it to the lookout point at 17k. The final 4k was tough, but those views of Palma and the sea were stunning. By the time I hit 20k, I was DONE. Only 5% phone battery left, but the Uber driver saved me with a charger!

Back in Palma, I rewarded myself with a much-deserved pizza, Netflix, and clogs kind of vibe. Because let’s be real, after a day like that, what else do you need?

This hike was everything. I got lost, I got tired, but I also got to experience something incredible on my own. If you’re ever in Mallorca, girls, DO IT. And pack better shoes than I did!

Follow me on Strava for the full adventure, and stay tuned for more from The Mallorca Diaries!
